Our Free Classified site has reached another milestone and achieved a global position of under a quarter of a million.

Many Free Classifieds were put on yesterday ranging from cars, books, films, and jewellery. Nearly all of these free classifieds were from the UK.

I am taking a little time out today, so this is a very quick progress report. Hopefully I will have some time to catch up a bit later.

Since it is Sunday I am going to afford myself a few hours relaxing.  I have lost count how many Free Classifieds blogs I have done this week.  Since I use several different blgging sites, I am doing several different Free Classifieds daily blogs so as not to get penalised for duplication but also to get in as many Free Classified anchor text links in as possible.

I have no idea if this is making any difference.  I do think that we are probably following Pareto with his 80 - 20 split.

If you think this is spammy - dont read my Ning blog.  Ning will soon be under utilised ( I am guessing) due to its decision to charge.  I don't network on Ning so shan't be continuing with it.  I aim to get at least 10 Free Classifieds anchor text links in every very short blog.  Not that this is going to be much less.... Sorry!

Interestingly our Cyprus rank is 118, no k just 118.  Our Free Classifieds rank after Facebook,  Google, the BT equivalent and then a few porn sites.  So we rank at 118 biggest sites in Cyprus with next to no traffic.  Hmmm something is seriously amiss.

This clearly shows how little business is done online in Cyprus.  Even if I take their population and times it by 60 to equal that of the UK, then times 118 by 60, we still would rank at 7000. 

We are about to surpass another milestone & hope to be under 250K (1/4 of a million ) by monday.  I have a huge amount of work to commit to over the next few days and I am feeling a little overwhelmed.  I know that a couple of good nights sleep and an orderly list will sort me out.  The pace is relentless.  I feel guilty if I have a day off so keep blogging day and night for some quality free classifieds back links.

Today is Saturday and I am prepping some food for a friends barbeque tomorrow.  I will post the starter I am doing on the recipe forum.  Its not barby food.  Its a loaded nachos with everything including a generous quantity of refried beans.  so check it out, but give me a week to post.

Google VS Bing

I now have 2 months Free Classifieds Bing ad campaign.  Its all gone without a hitch, has fetched in good traffic, was a doddle to do and good value.  Several days in and many hours more, my Google Ad campaign is far less successful.  I cant actually call it expensive as its barely touched my budget.

Google do have a good analyzer where you input the campaign name and voila, it tells you why you are not getting click throughs or what ever else.  For me apparently my location was set too small.

Hmm, I had expected the UK to be a reasonable size.  Its not as if we are a nation of technophiles.  Far from it.  The UK is one of the biggest internet users per capita than anywhere else in the world.

Its not even as if we have an obscure website.  Free Classifieds are amongst the most well ranked in  the UK.  There is a massive keyword range that also fits in, we have over 50 different variations of Free Classifieds including branded Free Ad sites.  It even tells you when one keyword is rarely searched for.  I have only one.

The good news is that I did not prepay for my campaign, rather pay as you go which costs the same per click but it is drawn from your payment system as and when.  There was however a $5 set up charge so I will stick with it a little longer to make it worthwhile.

My patience is running thin so I may end up showing more loyalty to Bing.  After all Bing is headache free!

Google Ads - Disa bloody proved!

I was not wrong about Google Ads. Within 24 hours of starting a Free Classifieds ad campaign our ad was disaproved It really takes very little to have your ad dissaproved, as I have found out once again.  I still suffer palpitations from my last experience with Google ads  They are less communicative than Microsoft and you find your self having to read all terms & conditions to see what minor policy you may have broken.  Surely it cannot take must to program a change of capitalisation to small case on your behalf.  Certainly Exactseek reprogram the title to be all caps in their ads, irrelevant of how it was written.

My Classifieds Ad did not have an obvious issue.  So I spent a disproportionate amount of time trying to find the reason for the ad ban.  I had used in the content FREE Ad and was therefore guilty of over capitalisation.  I have changed it and hope that this reactivates the ad campaign.

You are not informed that your ads have been removed, you have to find that out for yourself.  So lets see how far this campaign takes me.  My patience is not what it could be and after I have reveiwed my Bing campaign with every variety of FREE Classifieds I can find, I may find myself shifting over entirely.  Its easier, cheaper & much friendlier!

Crankin' the rankin'

Yesterdays Free Classifieds Google Ad campaign intiation was not as much as a headache as I had expected it to be.  They now have videos which teach you how to format your ad in the most dynamic way.  I have many of the usual suspects in keyword analysis but against the wishes of my husband, left out some significant demographics.  Its not through choice, but through budget.

We had always said that it would be a massive advantage to get the students on board selling on our free classified website.  Mainly because they are a little cash strapped and they have tend to spend a fair amount of time in front of a computer screen. So something had to give, Whiolst I agree there are a lot of older people on the net, (my mum can put most people to shame), they dont really compare in numbers to those in a slightly youger demo.  I really don't want us to feature on websites for saga.

If we want to really draw their attention and get them uploading free classified ads, then it may be as well to offer an incentive.  Frankly I would rather spend some of our budgets on incentives for users then on Free Classified marketing.  This is where we have something of an enigma, you see you need to spend the budgets putting the incentives where they need to be.

So I guess incentives and prizes will be put on hold for just a little while longer & promoting the FREE CLASSIFIEDS will come first.
