The Day They Sold The Moon

YapYapOK Free Classifieds Alexa global 182k  UK 8k  Page 1 Google

Yesterday was mothers day and with that in mind I decided to blog about an extraordinary boy called Jack Paschall, who has, at the age of 9 just written a book.

This came to my attention after when one of my oldest & most valued friend got in touch regarding a website he was doing.  He came across Jacks mother after she approached him to do some press release to gain some exposure for her sons book.

Iain of Silver River Consultancy took a look at the website and offered to redo it for her as a gesture of goodwill.  He has never met Jacks mum, indeed they don't even live on the same continent.  Why?  Well firstly he was inspired, then just because he's one of life's good eggs.

You see Jack is no ordinary boy, he has autism.  His mother is a single mother and clearly a very good one since she has nurtured his imagination and encouraged him to draw on his strengths.

Jacks book is called "The Day They Sold The Moon".  Its a delightful portrayal of how Jack interprets some very mature ideals about the commercial use of the worlds resources. Despite the very grown up concept, the story itself is clearly a children's narrative interesting to any child who has dreamt of visiting the moon to see if it really is made of cheese. The story is powerful, thought provoking & beautifully illustrated.

You can buy the book from the website and help keep Jack in school.

Apart from buying the book, the site is a useful resource for Autism.  I wish Jack and his mum every success, I hope that it's seen by the right people and gets the recognition it deserves.  If there are any bloggers out there, you can help with links and PR.   Lets face it, if we can help those in need - its our moral duty!

Way to go Jack!

The Problem With Dogs

YapYapOK Free Ads Google Page 1 Number 1

I have chosen the advert for Daschund Puppies as its coinciding with Crufts.  I am a keen dog lover and whilst I normally like larger breeds, I have a penchant for Dachsys. An Aunt of mine had one called Ellie who was utterly adorable.

My mother has a stunning German Shephard dog and is actively involved in the GSD rescue.  The horror stories that I am hearing more often relates to cases of families being unable to keep their pets rather than through cruelty and neglect.

The current economic climate has seen many pet owners losing their homes.   Very often rentals will not entertain letting with animals, in particular large dogs.  One GSD owner realised that she would rather live on the streets than lose her companion of many years.  Having been refused properties from every agent, she called back suggesting they call landlords and see if they could agree on on allowing her to keep her dog on the basis that she paid a larger deposit in the event of any damage.  In addition she would also agree to have the property professionally cleaned upon vacating.

Her tenacity paid off and several landlords agreed to let under these certain conditions.  This is now being well publicised to ensure fewer families lose their much beloved pets.

Sadly it comes too late and the number of dogs without homes is now so high that one expert believes that we should halt all breeding for 2 years to create a demand for the older dogs who need homing.

For me, this is a no brainer.  I do not have the dedication required to puppy train.  I would rather take on an older dog since I have seen first hand the bond that can develop without the "baby" bit.  My mother lost her rescue dog after many years.  She was not only a loved pet but also my sons best friend.  He would spend hours talking to her and when they went walking they would always be side by side as she protectively lingered with him.  I would not have understood the depth of the relationship had I not been privy to the many special moments that existed between them.

It has also been expressed that breeders be better regulated.  This may mean that advertising puppies on Free Ads may also be scrutinized and possibly banned.  If this creates healthier dogs going to families that are willing to be questioned and visited then this can only be a positive thing.  Inevitably it will mean that the price of pedigrees in particular will escalate.  However maybe this will ensure higher commitment from the buyers. Anyone without the means to afford them can always visit the various breed rescues as well as the Blue Cross.

Any landlords out there who are willing to allow dogs in their properties, even with certain conditions attached.  Let us know and we will publish your property for you.

A Rising Web Empire

YapYapOK Free Classifieds Google Page 1

The nations fastest growing Free Classifieds is still occupying page 1 Google.co.uk.  We are at number 2 rather than number 1 since we have been concentrating on marketing our other keyword Free Ads.  The very slight drop will be remedied in the next few days as we make up for lost SEO.

My favourite recent advert is for this heat wrap pad.  This can be powered with either a battery or from your car lighter.  A friend of mine has a rather nice car with heated seats and it is a luxury to be a passenger.  Ok - so it wont replicate and distribute heat the same way her Porsche does, but then the price tag will be rather less.

To see how the site is doing with respect to linking I often enter yapyapok into the search box of Google.  I loved this site which gives a crowd illustration depicting your daily visitors, ours fills Spaladium stadium.   No I hadn't heard of it either but it does hold a crowd of over 10k .  It also classes this Free Ads as a rising web empire ....... which is nice.

Getting Competitive

YapYapOK Free Classifieds -  number 1 on Google.co.uk

Since we have maintained position for our main keyword we have been going all out to do the same for the very competitive keyword term - Free Ads.  Its working, we have climbed another 13 spaces and are now on page 2 at position 15.

There has been an explosion of advertising.  I like this one for Cheap Accountants in London.  Having been involved with my husbands business I am well aware of the necessity for accountants, defending your accounts to HM revenue can be daunting if your paper work is not as it should be.  Accountancy costs can be significant for small businesses.  Perhaps Next Day Courier could use them??!!

Its interesting to see how businesses utilise Free Ads.  Those who are web savvy know how the links work for SEO.  Clearly the advertising is a massive advantage.  YapYapOK Free ads has a 3 month duration on all ads.  Most ad sites have only a 30 day duration.

So if you have a product or service to sell, or just need a clear out, advertise for 3 months on YapYapOK.  If your a new business, let us know and we will consider blogging about you.  Just send us an email with your main keyword!

Promote Your UK Business

YapYapOK Free Ads Gets More Hits

The hit rate on the fastest growing Classifieds continues to grow exponentially.  Thousands of UK searches are culminating in massive exposure to all our advertisers.  Constant attention to creating important SEO has ensures that YapYapOK is still hogging the number one spot in Google UK for Free Classifieds.

Since we work with a number of websites we are well aware of the costs of web set up in particular domain name registration.   Consequently this new ad for cheapest domain names really caught our eye.   Domains are offered from as little as 3.49.  Since many sites often register at least 2 domain names then the costs of domain name registration can be significant.

Another ad for marketing jobs and PR has created interest in an economy where jobs seem low on the ground.  I read with interest that 1 in 5 5 graduates are currently unemployed.  A higher number, it seems are working in low paid jobs where the graduates are significantly over qualified for the work they are employed to do.  This has a knock on effect to the lay men who are being displaced to the ranks of the unemployed.

Hopefully new initiatives to help entrepreneurs in business start up will create a new economy providing they are well supported during the critical first year of operation.

We certainly hope to see more ads for start up businesses and will endeavor to support them in blogs.  Just send us an email and we will review the ad for extra exposure.

UK number 1

YapYapOK Free Classifieds Google UK Page 1 - Number 1

Now holding pole position for Google UK it is not surprising that the page views have increased 10 fold.  Bizarrely this is not reflected in our Alexa rank which has dropped off.

Now the UKs premium Free Classifieds is getting thousands of visits every day.  Feedback has been astounding with many advertisers remarking on how well the site is working so well for them as an free advertising medium.

Please remember that we can only offer this service free to all if terms and conditions are met with appropriate content including taking part in the phone conversion system.

070 numbers are the way in which YapYapOK Free Classifieds generates revenue.  These are not premium numbers but they are charged at a higher rate.  We hope that advertisers consider this when publishing prices by offering goods and services at a competitive price creating a win win situation for buyers and advertisers alike.

Happy trading on YapYapOK Free Ads!
