The Day They Sold The Moon

Yesterday was mothers day and with that in mind I decided to blog about an extraordinary boy called Jack Paschall, who has, at the age of 9 just written a book.

This came to my attention after when one of my oldest & most valued friend got in touch regarding a website he was doing.  He came across Jacks mother after she approached him to do some press release to gain some exposure for her sons book.

Iain of Silver River Consultancy took a look at the website and offered to redo it for her as a gesture of goodwill.  He has never met Jacks mum, indeed they don't even live on the same continent.  Why?  Well firstly he was inspired, then just because he's one of life's good eggs.

You see Jack is no ordinary boy, he has autism.  His mother is a single mother and clearly a very good one since she has nurtured his imagination and encouraged him to draw on his strengths.

Jacks book is called "The Day They Sold The Moon".  Its a delightful portrayal of how Jack interprets some very mature ideals about the commercial use of the worlds resources. Despite the very grown up concept, the story itself is clearly a children's narrative interesting to any child who has dreamt of visiting the moon to see if it really is made of cheese. The story is powerful, thought provoking & beautifully illustrated.

You can buy the book from the website and help keep Jack in school.

Apart from buying the book, the site is a useful resource for Autism.  I wish Jack and his mum every success, I hope that it's seen by the right people and gets the recognition it deserves.  If there are any bloggers out there, you can help with links and PR.   Lets face it, if we can help those in need - its our moral duty!

Way to go Jack!
