Topical News

YapYapOK Free Classifieds Page 1 Google UK

I spent most of yesterday reading Tweets rather than Tweeting - I did say it was addictive.  Tweeting tends to air on the topical and Twitter was full of the Murdock enquiry.  I was watching the enquiry whilst simultaneously reading what others had to say about it.  What can I say - I am a woman and can multi task!!

The Murdocks pretty much denied any knowledge of any wrong doing exclaiming that the N.O.W represented only 1% of the overall empire and they couldn't possible have any knowledge of the tactics utilsed by the reporters.  Well I can sympathize with that.  I once owned a retail shop and it was hard enough tracing staff who used the phone for telephone competitions.

However can the same be said of the Editor?  Whilst this may be 1% of the Murdochs business it was surely 100% of her job!

I leave you with that thought since I don't want to get too political here.

Completely unrelated but topical is the Google +1 button that is creating waves every where you look on the internet just now.   According to many articles it is Googles answer to Facebook!!

Adding the Google +1 button onto a website is similar to adding the Facebook like.  Entrepeneurs on Fiverr are already offering to create 50 +1s for any web owner with the button. Having looked into it I can only find reviews and webmasters tools.  Thats a bit like looking for Facebook to only find how to add the like button for your site whilst managing to avoid Facebook altogether.  Ok so I have only had a breif look in the past week and its possible that the hype is preempting the site.  However one reviewer did talk about the photo upload which apparently runs very smoothly - I would try it if I could find it!

So to +1 or not to +1?  That is the question!  My gut feeling is that it can't hurt and may actually have positive inplications.  Adding the +1 button is simple according to webmaster tools.  If I can pay $5 for 50  "likes" then I will create 50 links.  Not just any links - Google links.  Surely Google will like that!!

Twitter - Revisited

YapYapOK Free Classifieds - Google UK Page 1 Number 3

I have been asked to do a few favours for friends regarding SEO on websites.  This has been very valuable since I have employed many SEO techniques that I have under utilised.

Many of these sites have been very easy to get to page 1 of Google as they fit a very specific niche.  YapYapOK Free Classifieds is very general and therefore highly competitive, consequently my faith in my abilities has been totally restored.

Twitter has really come into play again for me.  It is a very powerful tool - used effectively.  To do well on Twitter it is important to get a good following.  I have found that retweeting helps a lot.  People love being retweeted or mentioned as it gives them a bigger audience and encourages more followers.

For example if I retweet a micro blog it gets seen by my followers.  In return I sometimes get a mention from said follower which is apparent to their followers who then consider following me.  If they follow me, the chances are that I will follow them back.

This can be highly addictive and time consuming.  There is automated software that I use and helps with sending Tweets, following and unfollowing as well as sending welcome messages to new followers.   However to be truly effective it is mandatory that you service your Twitter account manually from time to time as a courtesy to your followers and have some interaction.

Since I have started helping other web owners, I am Tweeting for them and the constant logging in to different accounts is all consuming.  I do think that it is worth it - if only to create the links back to your website pages.

Not so long ago it was necessary to shorten links using bit/ly or tinyurl.  Twitter now automatically shortens your url for you thereby creating a direct link to the web page increasing SEO exposure.

So I am off to Tweet, retweet and follow on Twitter.  Check out my Free Classifieds Tweets on Twitter

New for Businesses

YapYapOK Free Classifieds Page 1 Google

I have read that it takes time for visitors to see websites a minimum of 3 times before they put their trust in it.

That may not seem like a lot but the process can take a disproportionate amount of time.  Clearly that time is upon us as we now have businesses queuing to be a part of YapYapOK Free Ads.

We are now working with large companies to utilise their development feeds to process onto the UKs fastest growing Free Classifieds.

Areas we are most interested in getting content include Property Sales, Car Sales and Recruitment.

Should any company wish to work with us in these or other areas then get in touch.   We need your developers code and we will install it FREE.

Similarly we will soon be selling the corresponding ad space on each page in the next part of our development drive.  This the last of this step of development work as we really want to illustrate the traffic and assure clients that we offer value for money as well as relevant ad content specific for various topic areas.  Creating a relationship between the content and the ad space is key to ensure that advertisers get the most out of the ad as well as ensuring a long term relationship with our customers.

YapYapOK is position 3 on page 1 Google for Free Classifieds and position 15 for Free Ads.
