Time for a quickie

Wow, I have just enough time to get this in with a few inward pointing links to YapYapOK  & the new Yap Your Blog forum

Why a quickie, not because of inefficiency, genuinely I am one of the most efficient people I know.  Not blowing my own trumpet.  I can't relax if I am not ahead of my schedule.  I always anticipate something (although not in this case) holding me up.  I am efficient for the good of my health,  not to impress.  I am therefore never late.  The  2 interconnect.  Efficiency and timekeeping.  I have, ever since I was a small child been terrified of being late.  If I overslept I would become overwhelmed with panic.  My mother would make me sit down and count to 10.  That always puzzled me, far from making anything better I was crucially another 10 seconds away from where I was meant to be.

I  have a low tolerance of lateness.  I often race around trying to get through everything on my ever growing to do list, and meet every appointment, personally and professionally with minutes (about 20 at least) to spare.  On time is rarely enough, that will also induce panic.  I anticipate the time, the traffic, the tractor, the car crash.  You name it,  I allow for it.  Critically this has meant I have never missed a train a plane or anything really.  Consequently anyone who doesn't even make any effort to be on time for me creates a disproportionate amount of bad feeling.

A very good friend of mine is often so late that she has often not left home which was over an hour away at the time we were meant to be meeting.  I find this at the very least inconsiderate, particularly when I have moved heaven and hell to be make it early.  I am always multi tasking and rarely have a moment to have a cup of tea in the middle of the day!  Whilst I am certain that this does not occur to her, the resentment can be all consuming.

Anyway I digress, today my internet went down, my list of chores grew bigger and I was unable to make a dent in them.  Coupled with a parent teachers appointment, shopping and dinner I have had to admit defeat.  I am also back on dinner duty as my son brandished his first mouth ulcer yesterday. I am dabbling in the blame game, as my husband has been making the dinner recently and there has hardly been a vegetable in sight.

So apologies for anyone who was expecting further input on SEO, this is purely for "in links".  Ahh as if by magic there is my SEO.

Twitter on Steroids

This blog post is right on topic on promoting web sites using social media.  How to benefit from Twitter using a program called Tweet Adder.  This is the first social media tool that we have paid for and boy is it ever worth it!

There is a free version that you can use & I recommend it so that you can see the capability of the program.  The free version does have severe limits but if you only need occasional Tweets then it may be for you.  Also the free version deletes the Tweets after it has sent them.

I upgraded to the pro after 1 day.  I uploaded all my popular Tweets on to the Tweet Adder, I select the frequency in which I want them sent and then I sit back and let this work for me 24 hours a day.  Every day.  Its like having a full time staff member Tweeting for you.  They don't take sickies, or coffee breaks and they work on a 100% efficiency rating!

So for the grand fee of $59 you no longer have to baby sit your Twitter account!  This is the only software I have paid for since our website was launched and I thoroughly recommend it.  I did some homework on it first and I even though I searched and searched I could not find a bad word about it!  It is also one of a very few Twitter tools that is MAC compatable.

On top of that, it regularly follows and defollows for you.  It also sends a pre programmed message to all my new followers.  Since I installed this on friday (4 days) I have increased my followers by 400.  My click throughs are now up to 1500 a day just on Twitter.  The more you Tweet the more you get echo tweets thus increasing inlinks to your website.  Pre friday when I did a web search by the domain name YapYapOK via google, the results came up as 3600 ish.  Now it is up to 5360

I see that a lot of bloggers promote their blogs by tweeting them.  The reason for this is that blogs are an excellent SEO tool and some bloggers monitise them.  It takes alot of traffic to earn any kind of income from a blog but it can nonetheless be done.

As an extra service we have set up a Yap Your Blog forum so that bloggers can list them with a brief description and an external link.  Within a short time of publishing the views were up to over 100.  The more blogs that list, the more we Tweet, and the more exposure the Blogs get.  So if you have a blog and want to get in at the top.  Its free!

You need to register then add your blog heading as a new topic in this Blog forum.  By creating a link all visitors can easily get to your blog which also helps with your blog rankings.  It will probably take 5 minutes to set up.  You only do this once, let us do the rest!

See you there!

New Shop Features

Alexa rank hmmm!

Apparently you should not look at your ranking every day. Why? Because of the way Alexa moves round recording results. As other sites progress, even though yours may have too, theirs go up displacing your until the next time Alexa looks at your site. Since our site traffic was up by over 50% I doubt that we had gone down. I attribute the increase to my new Twitter tool which I will blog about tomorrow. You really need to read that one. Loads of traffic with much, MUCH less effort!

Anyway on a very happy cheery note I must report on the YapYapOK shops. Anyone with a shop will now see other items in that shop at the bottom of their advert. Take a look at this link for The Mini Book Store on YapYapOK.

There have been some other improvement such as the layout. The contact details are now to the side of the picture whilst the remaining pictures display underneath. Then the newly formated text. This means that users can see the pictures at a glance without scrolling to the bottom. The front page now displays 8 of the newest classifieds so they stay there longer! Take a peep at the YapYapOK home page

Also each displaying page will show 36 results which we feel is an optimum number. It means that you don't have to scroll through loads of pages if only a small number were displayed. The picture gallery makes it easy for the browser. By hovering the mouse over the picture a brief outline will drop down. The user will only drill in to the ad if this matches their requirements.

Whilst that may mean less traffic to your advert, it also enables a quick user friendly system for potential buyers which will draw them back time and time again. It also means that the adverts are only getting specifically targeted traffic which is after all what counts. If I need to convince you just check out other classifieds and scroll through heir systems. they really do not encourage you to go back. I would go as far to say that you would only use these if you felt that there was no alternative.

Our YapYapOK YOUTUBE vid is getting a few hits, OK its not great but budgets are tight, and its not as if you look for commercials on YouTube. Hence we called it by the song and not the website!

I still feel sure that Dire Straits would have encouraged viewings. C'mom Mark!

Friggin SU!

Sometimes when i start blogging, I really have no idea which direction that the blog will go. It surprises me that a seamingly lack of new material will turn into my best blogs. I have to say that was not true of yesterdays blog. I was below par, so my apologies.

Last night I made an effort to write a couple of topics for today, that and the advent of new adverts means that I am spoilt for choice. Over night we have had 2 seperate dog breeders list several adverts. Both breed blue eyed husky dogs. One I think is in wales (husky puppies in wales) and the other in Essex (husky puppies in essex), so totally unconnected. The breeders in Wales also breed English Bull Dogs.

My main reason for blogging is Stumble Upon. It is by far my favourite method of social media. Apart from attracting a great audience, its very little effort. The reason for this is you can't submit the same page to SU twice under the same login. . I am friggin SU. How? By Bleet box! Obviously I could set up various SU accounts, but that rather defeats the time issue.

After I have submitted my page by Stumble, I Bleet the page under the guise of Bleet It. I Stumble the bleet page which recognises the page as a submission under a seperate username, hence I double my submission. Clever & quick.

I have joined Tweet adder as a demo, but think that I may have to buy a licensed version. The demo is amazing and I think that this will prove to be a very canny & time saving investment, more on this tomorrow.

I have yet to Buzz but hope to explore this later!

YapYapOK - a new class of classified

PS My latest catchphrase is "YapYapOK - where we drive traffic to your ad"

It will ultimately lead to a YapYapOK - yapping your ad, or something like, needs more thought maybe!

On a personal note we had an offer on a house we are selling. The asking price was for £237 000, this has been lowered and we have been told that this is a bargain. It has 3 double bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, car parking for 2 cars, immaculate inside with panoramic sea views, semi detached in a cul de sac garden and a shared pool in a village location. Apparently they fell in love with it! The offer was for £180 000, they need a mortgage and have not even got one arranged yet!

The big fat no required only a milisecond of thought!

Update on rankings via social media

YapYapOK Alexa Ranking 2 219 916.

Since my last report we dropped a few thousand but we have now climbed back up again, oh to go below the elusive 2 million! Our new YapYapOK You tube video has had 134 views & they are not even friends and family.

We have had several new ads on the YapYapOK classified site which is fantastic. Soon we will start our email marketing campaign. We have a couple more things to implement then we can really press on.

One of the adverts yesterday was for a second hand book called The Time Travellers Wife, a best seller by Audrey Niffenegger ( spelling. I recently reviewed this book on the YapYapOK forum & agree with the seller. It is one of my favourite books ever. The seller has it priced at £3 which I think is a real bargain. I forget how much I paid for mine but it is now in the safe hands of my mum. We share our books!

Another advert is for a Water Home on Palm Jebel Ali in Dubai, the pictures are artist impressions as it is off plan but if the reality is 1/10th of the pictures then it will still have an enormous wow factor. The promotional video which has been taken from YouTube quite literally takes your breath away.

The buzz word is BUZZ. Google has entered the domain of Social networking, so I have another item on my to do list. I fear that I will be another lone bod in a crowded, albeit virtual room. You see the problem is I blog and create links via all the social networking channels to create as many inward links pointing to YapYapOK, most of them are unread and are probably of little value. Some of them are immediately rewarding such as Twitter which I measure on bit.ly. My analytics show me the next day where my traffic has come form. Oddly Stumble Upon has become a not inconsiderable referrer. I probably spend about 30 minutes a week on this particular networking site and yet it brings in more traffic than all my hours on Twitter put together. My time on SU is limited as any one person can't submit the same page twice. This has been a surprising result but endorses the facts that I cannot afford to dismiss any of the social tools that I use!

My picture choice today was the icon for DIY, it represents multiple tools which is kinda what I'm blogging about. Weak link I know, I'll never get a job on telly!

Off topic, but the links are in!

Its Valentines Day.

I have nothing new  to report today except on a personal matter.  I seem to have developed an intolerance to barley.  Not over night.  its been quite a long time & actually only discovered by abstinance.  My favourite drink is beer.   I drink it every day, not excessively but everyday non-the-less.  I love wine, but given the choice I would rather have developed an intolerance to that.

My symptoms are extreme neck pain which travels from the base of my skull and then into my neck & shoulders.  I am no wimp but this is sickening pain.  I always believed tha it was a result of a slight curvature which I have due to a problem vertebra further down which required some reinforcing.  So imagine my relief when the pain gradually lessens over a couple of days of non drinking.  At the time I did not put the two together although I did report to my husband that my neck pain had disappeared after about a week.

After a couple of weeks we  had our friend Investor Morse over for dinner & he bought over a lovely bottle of port.  I had a couple of small glasses and did not suffer any effects the next day.  About a week later I had a small glass of brandy.  Still nothing.  Then I had another beer.  Within 10 minutes of 1/2 pint of Bavarian lager I had excruciating pain & felt unwell.  This was reminiscent of a previous incident so I Googled it.

Had this occured with any alcohol it could have been one of several disorders.  The fact that I am able to drink other alcoholic beverages points to a barley intolerance.  Now I have read that it is possible to reprogram your body to tolerate potential allergens providing you abstain from the culprit "food" for a minimum of 6 months.  So here goes.

If I start posting pictures of me in a bikini in the next few weeks then clearly there will have been some other benefits, however it may be better to all who read this that I don't.  Along with other more mature ladies, we start to get body dysmorphic disorder as we get older.  However instead of thinking our bodies are worse than they are we think they are better!

Happy Valentines day.  If your alone consider advertising in the personals, sometimes fate needs a push.

Free classified advertising & shop hosting for all!

The best UK free Classified just got FREE-R

YapYapOK is funded by a personal number system costing between 12 and 21p per minute.    Whilst the phone number system is not mandatory at present, we hope that our advertisers will utilise this system to allow us to continue operating a free and superior advertising medium to all!

Removing overheads encourages our advertisers to offer competitive prices  which more than compensates the cost of the calls!

Clearly this has huge benefits for any advertiser particularly businesses.  Where else can you host a shop with superior functionality with no listing fees, joining fees, or final sellers fees?  The more users take part the more we can improve our product so that we become the ultimate selling platform not just for businesses but also for anyone selling high ticket items such as houses and cars.

The long term goals are clear.  Why host your own website and pay web hosting fees every year when you don't have to.  The costs of running a site is not cheap.  It takes infinite resources of money & time.  If you utilise social media, then prepare to spend hours tweeting traffic to your site or your blog or whatever  other social mediums you use.

YapYapOK randomly chooses adverts to Tweet.  We send traffic to your advert.   This will free you of  your website management & enable you to run the other aspects of your business.  Our sole responsibility is  marketing our website to market your products or services & its all free.

So why not try it.  It takes less than a minute to register, about 5 minutes (or less)  to load each product and you can republish with just one click of the mouse!  Loading times vary due to number of photos and photo size!  Its easier to use than the market leader.

The more people that join & employ our personal number system, the more benefits we can all enjoy.  Say goodbye to tedious hours of keyword analysis, to web hosting, social media, website management and web marketing.  Join now and help us create a fun place to trade!

To see how an ad displays click here.  This advertiser has utilised the picture gallery and taken the embed code from a YouTube video which displays underneath.  All ads are presented in this stunning format.

We also operate a fun informative forum which enables the advertiser to promote and link to their adverts.  They can  interact with customers, answer questions and build customer loyalty and branding.

Would love to be in Dire Straits

I have once again become obsessed with Alexa Ranking. Clearly they
update more than once a week because....da da daaaaaa. We are now
ranked at 2,255,551 thats a jump of approx 62000 in 2 days!

We also have 5 sites linking in, bizarrely we have many more than
that. I have linked from Posturous and in turn, Blogger, Stumble etc
In fact I personally must create several links from at least 15
different social media on a daily basis, Twitter must be more like 30
plus every day!

Even more bizarre was the fact that 2 of the links were completely
unbeknown to me. So I wonder why they did and indeed how they found
us. Maybe all those links via the other social sites.

Today I have to report our new YapYapOK YouTube video featuring the song "Rich Girl" by Gwen Stefani went live yesterday!

We really wanted to put on Dire Straights "Money for Nothing". It
went brilliantly with the video, they are British & I am a huge
fan. One night in Sept 2009, a great friend & I spent several drunk hours
listening to Dire Straights on YouTube. I have always loved the Alchemy live version of Sultans of Swing, man can he play guitar. I also love Romeo & Juliet.
Tracy was telling me how sexy Mark Knopfler was. Well I had always
loved the music but really had never seen the sex appeal so it was
enlightening to watch him practically snogging the mic, singing in that
sexy drawl "I can't do anything but be in love" 'n strumming. Now I too
have a very grown up crush.

So, If there is anyone out there who knows Mark, and thinks he might
mellow to the idea of allowing us free use of his record then please do
get in touch. Who knows it might even bring him in some more record
sales! So Mark - You 'n me, how bout it

In the spirit of links YapYapOK free UK classifieds

OOh & I did at last publish my recipe for Scotch Eggs Gourmet a la Chates - Mark might like that, he was born in Scotland you know!

Keeping up the Ranks & Keywords

Since my last post my Alexa rankings have remained static. Well it was only yesterday. Usually after I have had a nice big jump up, I take a small one back. So in order to stem the backward tide I am pushing ever forward. According to results from Google, Alexa update their stats weekly. Unless you are in the elite (top 100,000) where you can expect a daily update. I can't say for sure but I believe that mine, therefore all, have updated on a bi-weekly basis.

Talking of stats, I check the analysis everyday to see how and where our traffic is from. An important aspect of the analysis is keywords & which keywords are being used to find us. Sometimes it is the advert that has been placed that does the talking, We have had several views as a consequence of having adverts for Tim Cotterill. Both Prowler & Flipper have been used. Some of the keywords are obscure, blog followers may remember the Keyword phrase "woman seeking animal" which resulted in our site being found. For the record, we are not that kind of site, Beastiality is illegal in the UK & still carries the death penalty. Once again I digress, the key phrases I found interesting were , "tammy chater jewellery" & "tammy chater cyprus". Wow, thats me, I used to have a jewellery shop & I am currently in Cyprus. So secretly I am a little flattered, not at all spooked & wondering just who has looked for me. Maybe an old boyfriend. Well I would like to think so! Having said that, why not just find me on Facebook. OR join YapYapOK Free Classified Facebook & plug your ad! We have more fans than I have friends. So whilst your there.....

More ads have appeared on the YapYapOK Free UK Classified site over night, so clearly something is working!

After every posturous posting to blogger, I strive to edit. Not sure if it works, but another YapYapOK link cant hurt. Oooh I also need to pretty my post with a picture!

For any smartarses out there, ok, not so pretty, but thought it only appropriate for me to come out of the closet, metaphorically speaking (am not gay, or antigay) and stop hiding behind the logo. Tis appropriate as this is me by the fire in Cyprus

Up The Rankings

This is a super fast post on my Alexa rank.

YapYapOK free Uk classified went up over 100 000 pts since I last looked....... um yesterday. We are now ranked 2 317 391

Clearly Alexa does not upgrade on a daily basis, but I worked very hard on social media yesterday. I used most of the ones I am now familiar with. Blogger, Posturous (here Sir) Facebook, Twitter, Ning, Stumble, Bleetbox, stumble via Bleetbox, Digg, Digg via Bleetbox and My Space.

My tweeting for clicks was immensely successful due to the new investment threads courtesy of Investor Morse. I received over 300 views on this page alone. Bizarrely its not recorded so highly in my Google analysis, but the results are there to be seen.

So consequently, I am not sure what worked, if it was anyone thing or a combination of all of them. What I do know is that I am spurred on. I need to get below that elusive 2 000 000 rank.

Also I have now got over 1000 followers on Twitter. Hooray!

SEO and Alexa success

No your not seeing double, I simply forgot to edit rather than repeat my Posturous blog. You see Posturous posts everywhere fo me. Including here on blogger. Rather than delet my post, I have decidede to leave it here as a record of not only how dumb I am today, but also as an illustration on hopw the links work within the various socail sites.

Also it can't hurt to have all these extra links pointing to the YapYapOK website. Whoops there goes another one.

This is a super fast post on my Alexa rank.

How to get your hit rate up using Twitter

Actually its not hard. Anything that says money with a link attached is clearly going to have success. I think that sex works just as well. The problem comes in trying to tally the title to the content, ie making it relevent.

For YapYapOK the UKs newest free classified, this is not difficult. It makes sense for us to have information forums due to the number of selling catagories that we have. If we are to have sellers of books, films, games etc, then it makes sense to encourage interaction from anyone who has experience of the products out there. This is why we have a review forum. In many ways it is helpful not only to the customer but also to the seller who can opt to trade in well reviewed stock. So how is "money" relevent to the forum?

Our forum is all about information. We have a forum about recipes, products, gardening and also about investment. We also have a business category on our classifieds so it makes sense to tally this with a business/investment thread. Fortunately I can list amongst my freinds Gerald Morse. Gerald aka Investor Morse has an instinct for the stock exchange. He has been trained at the highest level and worked for some of the top blue chip companies in the world. Some clients rank as the most high profile on the planet, and OMG does he have some stories. I digress, but he has agreed, in the return for some home cooking, to publish regular money making tips on the new Investment forum. Hence the massive hit rate by Twitter!

Gerald has been known as many things, it was the publication "Private Eye" which came up with the pseudonym Investor Morse. Prior to this he was known as Gold Finger to those in the trade. He is now contactable via the YapYapOK classified website. Should you be interested in becoming either a client or learning some of the tricks of the trade then contact him via this link Investor Morse on YapYapOK

My next task is to create a relevant link for sex. Now that's gonna take a lot of lateral thinking to make this one appropriate!

Its all FREE

Today I have been ordered off the website whilst some new improvements are made.

We have gone into partnership with a UK company which changes the advertisers phone number.  Its not premium rate but is more expensive than conventional calls.  This will enable us to pass on extra benefits to our customers.  We anticipate that all of the classifieds including high ticket sales such as property and cars to be free - always.  We are also aiming to provide a free shop hosting service to businesses selling high volumes of stock via a YapYapOK free shop.  Providing that this system is utilised by our sellers properly then this is a great way forward.

Clearly anyone running their business from YapYapOK will have lower costs which enables them in turn to pass this on to the end user, this will more than compensate the buyer for the cost of the call  So this is a win win situation.  YapYapOK has only a few partners so there are no stock holders to keep happy.  Phone calls are charged at between 12p and 21p.

So if you want to be a part of the next big selling site on the net, join us now! YapYapOK free UK classified has all the functionality of a complex sales sites with none of the charges!
