Have been feeling slightly guilty at working during the holidays so promised my son and his friend that I would take them to the cinema tomorrow to watch a film of their choice.
Wishing I hadn't done that now since they have voted for Cowboys & Aliens as opposed to the Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes. Doh!
Not that either of these would have been my choice, I would like nothing more than to watch a good ole chick flick like "One Day"!
SO despite my checking out dozens of reviews online clearly showing the ROTPOTA as the better film, trying to bribe them with chocolate & cash, I am set to endure the poorly named "Cowboys & Aliens". The fact that Daniel Craig is in it will be a small consolition during the 1hr and 58 minute showing.
Talking of film, we have had several ads for DVDs on the YapYapOK Free Classifieds site the latest being Snuffed Out. However I would be doing a disservice not to mention King Faux from the same advertiser. After adding this, it went to Twitter. A Twitter account under the name King Faux, promoting the film, started to follow me and retweeted the Tweet. Hence loads of exposure to fans of King Faux.
This illustrates a little of the potential of Social Marketing. RSS feeds displaying tweets by keyword identity can enable a Tweet, or in our case ads, to go viral. The potential for all Free Classifieds to gain maximum exposure and resulting sales starts to depend on price and description. YapYapOK is working - to make sure that the ads work then it needs a good targeted title, a thorough description & hopefully a competitive price. Well we are a Free sales platform, why not be competitive?
